15 Useful Mom Hacks You Need To Know

April 2, 2021 by Shanta Rath Leave a Comment

Balancing work and home is no easy task for the majority of moms. With a gruelling schedule and with kids around the corner, moms often find it difficult to meet their unexpected demands.

Your kid could be asking for snacks at an unearthly hour or could be pleading for new toys. Or your child could be stubbornly refusing to complete his homework. Whatever the reason might be, your kids’ pleas sometimes appear to be quite endless and exasperating!

Being a mom is tough. This is quite true for stay-at-home moms as well as for working moms. Mornings can be nerve-racking for most of them. The chores appear to be never-ending. Trying to keep everything organized is really hard. At the same time moms also have to meet the physical and emotional needs of their kids. At this point, opting for the list of mom hacks and ideas can really make your daily life easier. Whenever you feel your life is chaotic and is a mess, you can depend on the list of day-to-day habits to help you. It is not difficult. You can make your life stress-free and uncomplicated if you are aware of the difficulties that you would face with your kid.

Here are some tricks that moms can adopt to make their life easier and smoother on a daily basis:

Kids’ Snacks on Sundays

15 Useful Mom Hacks You Need To Know

Moms can prepare some healthy snacks for their kids and preserve them in their fridge so that the kids can munch them with great delight whenever they feel hungry. You can arrange some cut vegetables, fruits, or prepare fried chips, burgers, sandwiches, hummus dip, boiled vegetables, fry mushrooms or even bake some pastries or cookies at home on Sundays for your little one.

Wake Up Earlier

You can try to wake up earlier than your kid. Try to wake up by an hour before your kid gets up. You can finish some of the morning tasks or simply sip a cup of tea or coffee and spend some quality me-time. Otherwise, you can do some exercises, yoga and meditation.

Work out a To-do List Plan

Arrange your schedules as per the hour. Try to meet the deadlines as per the timetable. You can keep aside some time for relaxation too.

Washing Toys

You can have nightmares especially if your child is crawling and has the habit of putting all the toys in the mouth. Washing the toys regularly can take away much of your time. You can at least put the hard toys in a mesh bag with some liquid detergent and give a spin in the washing machine. This would help you to save a lot of time and efforts.

Buy Gifts on Sale

15 Useful Mom Hacks You Need To Know

You can always purchase gifts in bulk and store them in cupboards. An offer or a mega discount or a festive sale is a welcome gesture to young moms. You can use these offers to purchase gifts in bulk and stockpile them in your cupboards. You can always surprise your kids with these gifts. The gifts can also be used for sudden unanticipated birthday parties in your neighbourhood.

Select Attire for Birthdays

Allow your kids to single out their own outfits for their friends’ birthdays. Let your child make a choice and decide on the colour themes that he desires to wear. Your little one can select his favourite trousers and bottoms for the birthday parties. You will be saving much of your precious time if your child has to attend several kids’ birthday parties in the neighbourhood in the following week. You can also wrap up those extra gifts for your child’s friend’s birthdays.

Label Your Kids’ Shoes

It is very difficult to differentiate between the left and the right shoe. Most of the kids’ shoes are very tiny, and you often find the pair of shoes looking very similar. At this point, putting a label on your kid’s shoes with a marker would help you to identify the shoes immediately and you won’t have to spend much of the time spotting the left shoe from the right shoe. Also, if your child is wearing the shoes himself he can identify easily and wear without your help.

Regular Sleep

Make an effort to have a siesta on time. Try to stick to your sleeping schedules so that your work plans do not get disturbed the next day. Keep some time for relaxation too.

Avoid Littering

Aim to keep only the necessary stuff in the house. The house would become less messy, and you will have to spend very little time clearing the waste.

Snacks Within Reach

Try to keep some healthy nutritious snacks within the reach of the children. Your kids can munch on them whenever they feel hungry. You can save much of your time, too as your kids can fetch the food by themselves.

Essentials in the Car

Always pack some diapers, baby towels, snacks and a set of baby clothes ziplocked in a bag in the car. This would prove to be very helpful to you while travelling in a hurry.

Keep Sunglasses

A pair of sunglasses in the car would be quite helpful to you while travelling with your kid. You would save a lot of your time as scouting for sunglasses at the last moment would be quite annoying and winds you up further especially if you are in a hurry.

Favourite Toys Near Reach for Going Out

While taking out your child to play or while going out for dinner, always carry your child’s favourite toys in your bag. You can keep your kids favourite toys within reach near the door like crayons, toys, dolls, cars, books, etc. so that it will be easier for you to carry them whenever you move out of the house with your kid.

Reusable Bags

Having reusable car bags in the seat would be quite useful if you suddenly decide to go shopping. You can use these bags when you take your baby out of the car and you can do your shopping stress-free.

Marking Doses

A sick child can be a nightmare to you as well as for most moms. It is likely that you might forget which dose of medicine you have given to your child especially if the doctor has recommended three to four different medicines for your kid. Marking the doses in the bottle will help prevent confusion especially if you are juggling multiple chores. So you can draw a dosing schedule with a marker on the side of the bottle. The question, have I given a morning dose? Or have I given an evening dose? These queries would not pop around your head. You simply have to look at the bottle to avoid the baffling questions.

Hopefully, the above tips would help most of the moms to cope with their daily struggles. It is possible that even after putting in a lot of efforts your house could be in a mess. Do not get upset by it. Accept the disorder and the untidiness and continue using all the mommy hacks. Your life at some point in time would be trouble-free. You would soon realize how with the simple ways; you can make your life easier!
