6 Places to Travel with Your Kids at Every Age: USA

May 22, 2021 by Bea Krasner Leave a Comment

Traveling with kids is a lot of fun, but it is also a lot of work. Once you have kids they become the first priority while planning a vacation. Moms need to know they are traveling to places that are both safe and jam-packed with activities. The right destination is even more important when you travel with your kids of multiple ages. Make sure you pick one of these great destinations that are fun for toddlers to teens and beyond.

San Diego

Undoubtedly, one of the best places to travel with kids is San Diego. This Southern California hot spot is filled with activities for all ages. When looking for things to do in San Diego with kids, look at Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, the New Children’s Museum, and Old Town California, but don’t stop there. The more you look at San Diego, the more you will find!

A unique spot to visit with kids is Spruce Street Suspension Bridge. This bridge was built in 1912 and is supported by massive cables. The 375-foot long footbridge is in the Bankers Hill neighborhood near Balboa Park. San Diego is also home to many gorgeous beaches. Don’t forget to plan at least a couple of days on the beach. Shell Beach and La Jolla Cove are just a couple of the favorites among visitors to San Diego.

Disney World

If you’re looking for a place that has it all, Disney World is the place to be. The Orlando resort complex is comprised of multiple locations that are fun for everyone. Animal Kingdom is a zoo and amusement park in one. Hollywood Studios has thrill rides for older kids while still having plenty for the younger crowd. Epcot lets families explore multiple countries without leaving Florida. It is also convenient for families with kids of different ages as you have the option of waiting it out while the older ones get a ride. If any of your kids do not qualify the height limit you can also always go for parent swap and take turns enjoying the rides so that no one gets left out.

The Magic Kingdom is magical to everyone, no matter what age they visit. It is indeed a children’s paradise with many of their favorite characters and magical attractions to see. The parades and fireworks will enchant your children no matter the age. Disney is also safe. Parents should feel comfortable letting teenage kids explore unattended, giving them the freedom they desire while remaining in a secure location.

Philadelphia

Teach your children about history by visiting the birthplace of the nation. Head to the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and the Revolutionary War Museum to show children of all ages how our great nation came to be. Continue learning at the country’s first zoo, Philadelphia Zoo, and then head over to the Franklin Institute for some hands-on science fun. Older kids might enjoy a spooky evening ghost tour. For something a little more family-friendly, take a walking tour led by a historical reenactor.

Niagara Falls

The United States is filled to the brim with beautiful and breathtaking places. One of those places is Niagara Falls. Take a ride around Horseshoe Falls, go on a tour behind the falls, or head up to the Skylon observation tower to see all three falls at once. Your kids will love to see the falls up and close while riding on a boat tour. Plus it is safe to take babies too for a tour so that should not be a deterrent if you have little ones.

Niagara also has plenty of fun things to do away from the water. One of the oldest attractions at Niagara Falls is the Upside Down House. Families enter the attraction through the roof and tour a home where everything is reversed. Kids also love the wax museums, the Midway, and the Niagara Skywheel.

Las Vegas

The moniker of “Sin City” has been replaced by a family-friendly metropolitan area. There are a number of shows within Las Vegas that are specifically geared toward families. Magicians, comedians, musicians, and circus acts put on daytime performances that are often PG. There are also multiple attractions that have been built to encourage family tourism. The luxurious hotels with their own themes will help your children get a glimpse of the entire world. Be it getting up the Eiffel Tower in the Paris Hotel or taking a Gondola ride at the Venetian, Las Vegas could be a wonderful place to travel with your kids.

Apart from them, Hershey’s Chocolate World, the Shark Reef Aquarium, the Adventuredome, and the Big Apple Roller Coaster are just a few of the fun attractions that work for the youngest and oldest in the family. Even strolling through the glitz and glamour of the casinos is an unexpected treat. Just outside of the city lies the marvel of Hoover Dam with its awe-inspiring tours. Best of all, Las Vegas is a year-round destination.

Yellowstone

A must-see for nature lovers is Yellowstone National Park. It was the nation’s first national park and continues to delight visitors throughout the year. Hiking, biking, and horseback riding are great ways to spend the days at Yellowstone. Families can take tours or explore on their own. Those who decide to forego a guided tour should include the Grand Prismatic Spring, Morning Glory Pool, Artist Point at Yellowstone Canyon, and, of course, Old Faithful. Families who visit in the winter can even strap on snowshoes or go skiing for an adventure that won’t be forgotten. After spending some time in Yellowstone, take a side trip to the Tetons. The mountain range is a great place to spot wildlife, go rafting or have a relaxing picnic.

Vacations are family bonding experiences that cannot be forgotten. Parents and children create memories together, increase communication and deepen their already steadfast bonds. Regardless of how old or young your family members are, you can create beautiful and exciting vacations that let you enjoy what is most important: each other.

Hope you found the article on places to travel with your kids useful! So where are you traveling to this summer?
