As mothers, we are always on the lookout for the best for our kids. Nowadays, the market is flooded with a variety of baby products. And in recent years, a lot of brands are producing baby products that are safe for baby skin. Also, they are consciously creating products with non-toxic, allergen-free, natural, cruelty-free ingredients that are suitable for a myriad of skin concerns.
CITTA
One such brand that we have had the pleasure to collaborate with is CITTA. Citta which means “consciousness” is the idea and heart behind designing, and manufacturing their consciously curated and sourced products.
All the products of Citta are curated consciously with natural ingredients which are safe and gentle on the young one’s delicate skin. They are free from parabens, toxins, allergens, sulphates, mineral oil, silicones, and any harsh chemicals. They have also been dermatologically tested and approved. Additionally, they are cruelty-free which is a big ‘yay’. The brand claims to be all transparent and provides all the ingredients used on the label. Also, the brand maintains that they are 100% grandma-approved as Citta imbibes the traditional “Dadi Nani ke Nuske” along with the latest scientific techniques.
To review the products, the brand sent us their Citta-Natural Moisturizing Baby Balm and Natural tender Foaming Baby Wash. After using the products on myself and my baby for more than a week, I was pleased with the quality and was satisfied with how good it is for babies.

The Citta Baby Wash contains coconut powder extract, aloe vera, and hydrolyzed rice protein as their main ingredients. It also contains Sodium Lauryl Glucose Carboxylate, a mild sugar-based surfactant produced from naturally occurring raw materials using natural processes. Along with these, it also has Cetyl Betaine and Cocamidopropylbetaine which are used for hair and skin conditioning surfactants. They are very mild and can be used for newborns and babies.
Also, to increase the shelf life of these products companies use a certain amount of preservatives like Phenoxyethanol. But it is not harmful and when used in the right amount is perfectly safe to use.

My Take on the Two Products
Citta Natural Tender Foaming Baby Wash
I used both the body wash and the baby balm on myself as well as my daughter. The baby wash comes at a price point of INR 799 for 150ml. The price seems a little steep for the quantity but given the quality, I feel it is worth the penny.
The baby wash comes in a pump dispenser, has a foamy consistency, is very mild, and does not leave the skin feeling dry. I have dry sensitive skin and my daughter has normal skin. Both of us did not have any problems and after a bath, the skin did not feel dry which is a good sign. The smell of the body wash is mild and not too overpowering. Make sure the foam does not enter your little one’s eyes as it can sting a little. Wash off with ample clean water if it’s in your eyes.
Citta-Natural Moisturizing Baby Balm
The Moisturizing Baby balm retails at INR 1099 for 200 grams. Though it may seem exorbitant it will last you a long time. The balm consists of a very thick waxy kind of consistency, but it melts in your skin once you apply it. You will require a very less amount of it for your body.
However, I feel that the body balm will work best for winters rather than for the sweltering summer heat. It is moisturizing and the body stays hydrated for a long time. The balm when applied does feel a little greasy and oily but it blends in after a little massage.
It has a scent that I personally do not prefer but apart from that it worked wonderfully for my daughter and for me. I might use it for the colder months as I prefer something light during the hot humid months. However, if any of you have an allergic reaction to coconut oil or any oils mentioned here, please do a patch test before using it on yourself or your baby.
All in all, if you do not mind heavy creams for summers for your baby, you can definitely give this balm a try. I am sure it will not disappoint you.
