We recently compiled a List of Indian mom bloggers. In the process, we came across a lot of blogs by bloggers of Indian origin who presently or permanently are residing outside India. Because of our strict inclusion criteria, these blogs did not find a place in the last list. Nonetheless, these blogs by NRI Indian mom bloggers are an interesting source of resources. We all know that mommy blogs are a rich source of information for all mothers. However Indian mothers staying abroad have unique challenges. Some of them include maintaining a balance between living in a foreign country and being traditional, adjusting to the challenges abroad and coping with a multicultural society. These fifteen fabulous mom blogs are bound to be a great resource for mothers who are starting a family abroad or planning to do so. So, Here we are …
Here are the fabulous fifteen: The list is not in any order…
1. Pooja Kawatra (Gupta) from The Mums and Babies (DA: 24)
Pooja is a working mom who blogs from Singapore and also featured in top 35 moms in Singapore. After the birth of her first child Aayan in 2008, she was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma which she braved and conquered. As she survived and pulled herself back to normal life and office, she started blogging in 2011. She started with sharing parenting experiences and some recipes. Since then she has done quite well and has got featured in top 35 mom bloggers in Singapore by the Asian Parent. In her blog, you will find Pooja writing on parenting, travel, recipes, and reviews. She also associates with Singapore cord blood bank to create awareness and promotes cord blood banking.
2. Roshni from Indian American Mom (DA: 24)
Roshni is a ‘Calcutta’ born (she refuses to call it Kolkata) Indian American mom to two sons. This busy Bengali working mom with a British accent (which she got from her schooling at a British international school in Nigeria) is currently settled in California and constantly balances her work and her life. She blogs about how Indian American households function, how Indian-Americans bring up kids and all sorts of stuff relating to Indian-Americans. She wanted to make her blog a platform for Indian-American and NRI families. Roshni talks about the identity crisis of herself as Indian-American and how she is learning to identify herself as a global citizen.
3. Shweta Ganesh Kumar of Times of Amma (DA: 18)
Shweta is an expat mom currently residing in Hungary. She is a writer, award-winning parenting blogger, a former television correspondent, and a full-time mother. Shweta is a famed blogger with her parenting life and blog featured in many magazines and blogs. She started her blog in El Salvador as an expatriate forum helped her recover for an all-time low social life after having her first baby. Shweta tries to bring honest conversations on motherhood and features inspirational mother’s and grandmother’s story and thrives to make Times of Amma a virtual resource for all mothers with a special focus on expatriate mothers. You can also join her online creative writing workshop or pick up some tips for her best selling book The Beginner’s Guide to the Indian Mom Blogging Universe.
4. Off the Beaten Track by Lakshmi Iyer (DA: 20)
Lakshmi started blogging way back in 2005. She is an alumnus of Yale Writers Workshop and holds a certificate in creative writing from The Writer’s Studio at Simon Fraser University. She lives with her family in the northeast US. After battling infertility and struggling to make a family, the couple opted for adoption. They became parents by adopting two 10-month-old white twin daughters. Later, Laksmi conceived and the couple also has a biological daughter. She is a strong advocate for open adoption. In her blog, you can mostly find blogs on parenting, adoptions, and reflections on her life. If you are an adoptive parent in the US or are planning to adopt, her blog is a must-follow.
5. Roopali Kadam of The Hello Mommy (DA: 16)
Roopali is a self-driven, fun-loving person and mother to two naughty kids. She is currently based in Roopali, Singapore, where she blogs from. A software engineer by profession and a blogger by passion, Roopali started her blog 5 years ago. In her blog, you will find awesome posts on parenting, mommy life, parenting, and travel. She is one of the top mommy bloggers in Singapore.

6. Alpana Deo of Mothers Gurukul (DA: 25)
Alpana holds a degree in Business Administration. After working in India for some time, she moved to the US after her marriage. She is a mother to two cute little angels and is currently a homemaker (which she regards as another area of management!). She started her blog to share motherhood experiences. In her blog, you would find recipes, travel tips, pregnancy, and parenting tips and many more. Her writing has also been published and featured in may websites.
7. Bilna Sandeep of Monsoon Breeze (DA: 28)
Bilna is a mommy blogger who blogs from Abu Dhabi. She is a civil engineer by profession but after the birth of her child she took a career break and that was when she started the blog. Now she is back to work and is a working mommy blogger.
8. The Parent Voice by Suchitra Shenoy Packer (DA: 26)
The Parent voice is an online parenting magazine the focus on multiracial, multicultural and multi-ethnic families. You will find many such stories, experiences, and resources. If you are from a multi-racial or multicultural family then you are sure to be benefited and inspired. Even if you are not, you may still find it useful as you get interesting perspectives which will help you raise your children better in a multicultural society.
9. Arushi Garg of Snazzy Mom Blog (DA: 17)
Arushi is a full-time work from home mom and a pet parent. She started this blog immediately after she had her baby in 2016. This multi-talented mom is based in Houston, Texas. Her hobbies include fashion, photography, sports, board games, baking, workouts, crafts and all things that help her in her role as a mom. In her blog, she shares her personal experiences, recommendations, opinions, thoughts, and ideas.
10. Rashi Roy at RashiRoy.com (DA: 7)
Rashi Roy is an Indian mommy blogger who blogs from Perth, Australia. She had started her blogging journey at royrashi.wordpress.com but recently moved to a self-hosted domain RashiRoy.com. Rashi is trained in classical music and she keeps her passion for music alive through her YouTube channel. You can find parenting tips and DIY ideas from recycling and reusing household items to create decorative pieces. Apart from this, she is also a passionate writer and you can find her fiction and poetry section in her blog. She is also a published author. Her books include:

11. NRI woman (podcast) by Bettina Tauro and Ninorah Fernandez Brookshire and Deepthy Shibish (DA:18)
NRI woman was started as a facebook group by Bettina Tauro and Ninorah Brookshire, both Indian by birth and living outside India. Deepthy joined later. Bettina was born and raised in Mumbai and moved to UAE in 2002. Ninorah is Indian by birth and was born and brought up in UAE. She spent most of her life in NewYork and is currently based at Miami. She was born and raised in Kerela and is currently based in UAE. Their idea is that women should be heard and not just read about other’s experiences. This was the idea that gave birth to their podcast.
12. Jyoti Kapoor of NRI Bride (DA: 4)
Jyoti is a software engineer from Delhi. She is currently based in Switzerland with her dearest hubby. In her blog, she writes about the things that would interest any women of Indian origin who are about to get married or have already married abroad and are away from home. Jyoti likes to keep her blog light and fun and in her blog, you will find how to deal with changes and prepare yourself to be an NRI. It seems like Jyoti is not regularly blogging anymore as her last post is dated back to 2014. However, if you are in the same situation as Jyoti, you will get some useful bunch of information and tips in this blog.
13.Rekha of NRI Maami (DA: 9)
Rekha is a Tamil girl and software engineer by profession. She was living with her husband and her daughter in the USA during the time she started her blog. Rekha always tried to strike a balance between being traditional and living in a foreign country – hence the name of her blog! She returned to India in 2016 and became a ‘Non-NRI’ as Rekha states in her blog. I guess she is no longer active in her blog and the last post is from 2016. However, you are an Indian living abroad her posts will interest you.
14.Neetu Mirchandani of Supermommy by ( DA: 36)
Neetu is a native Californian and is currently based in Singapore. She is one of the top parenting bloggers in Singapore. A mother to two boys, she is a fitness buff, beauty junky, a travel enthusiast and loves to cook. You can expect a little bit of everything in her blog. A self-declared ‘type-A’, Neetu was a corporate lawyer by profession and she struggled as a working mom. So she got her priorities straight and left her job to be a full-time super mommy… and she’s loving it!
15. Jhoomur Bose of Twist in the Tail (DA: 17)
Jhoomor lives with her partner and her daughter in Melbourne, Australia. She is a journalist by profession but gave up work to be a full-time stay at home mom when she got pregnant with her baby way back in 2010. She is also a pet parent to a cat called Billy. Jhoomur is a published author as well. After her second pregnancy in 2012, she published her first book Confessionally Yours. Read her blog to find an interesting perspective about things presented in a bold way. You’ll also find yummy recipes!.
